Annual Philippine Independence Day Picnic
Updated: Jun 16, 2022
This year the Annual Picnic was held at Vitale Park located in Lakeville, NY on the north shore of Conesus Lake on June 26, 2021. The weather cooperated and it was a breezy, warm and sunny day. We shared a potluck of Filipino and non-Filipino dishes. We gathered under the pavilion or on lawn chairs and blankets to converse and relax and enjoy the scenery. Children played games while competing for prizes and of course, there was the traditional Pabitin. All the children went home with a prize.
Adults and children strolled the Veteran's Memorial Garden which offered a shady place to sit and a spectacular view down the length of the lake. Even one of FAAR's Area VP's could be seen flying his kite!
A collection box was displayed for monetary donations to be given to a "kababayan in need", who recently relocated back to the area and had fallen on hard times. Thank you to all the donors!
The annual picnic is often times where we meet new individuals or families who have moved to the area or are just learning about FAAR. Welcome and we hope you had a great time!
