Meet and Greet with PCGNY Elmer G Cato and Q&A Forum with DOH Commissioner Dr Michael Mendoza

On May 16, at Martin Road Park in Henrietta, FAAR played host to a Kamustahan session/Meet and Greet with our special guests the Philippine Consulate General of New York - Elmer G. Cato, and a Question and Answer Forum with the Monroe County Department of Health Commissioner-

Dr. Michael Mendoza.


Consul General Elmer G. Cato engaged with our Filipino community and addressed needs and concerns during these difficult times. He expressed his concerns of the uptick of Asian Hate Crimes since the Pandemic and stated how important it is to report such actions. It is the only way they can track the data and be able to provide help when it is needed.


Dr. Michael Mendoza, the Monroe County Department of Health Commissioner answered many questions about the Vaccine and Why Getting vaccinated is an important tool in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. He shared his personal story about what it has been like growing up Filipino and the important job that he is doing for the Rochester Community.


The entire event was live-streamed on Facebook so the entire FAAR community could join us. The Flip Side, a food truck specializing in Filipino Food was on site. we thank the Philippine Consulate General Elmer G. Cato and Department of Health Commissioner, Dr. Michael Mendoza for joining us for this important event.
