2025 Awardees of the Dr. Eve A Tamayo FAAR Educational Scholarship

Congratulations to Marc Andrew Beny Chua II and Chelsea Schuyler Calunod who were each awarded $500 to go towards educational expenses.
The scholarship committee selected these students based on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, personal qualities and active participation in the association.
Marc Chua
Marc is a recent graduate of Greece Arcadia High School where he was consistently on the Honor Roll. He was a mentee through Apex for Youth which empowers Asian American youth from immigrant backgrounds to unlock their potential. While in school he shadowed in various medical units at the UR Strong Memorial Hospital. Marc plans to become a Physician Assistant in Neurology. He hopes to make a lasting difference in both the operating room and the community. His parents are Beny and Myrna Chua. Marc is currently a freshman at Syracuse University majoring in Biology.

Chelsea Calunod
Chelsea is a 2025 graduate of Rush Henrietta High School where she was consistently on the High Honor Roll and a member of the National Honor Society. One of her extracurricular activities included being a member of FAAR's Youth Dance Troupe. She received numerous awards on her senior year including, Foreign Language Honor Society (French), Monroe County Annual Youth Citizen of the Year, Monroe County Young Citizen of Excellence and the United States President's Education Award. Her parents are Baltazar Calunod and Kramer Brown. She is currently a freshman at Binghamton University studying Physics.

We congratulate Marc and Chelsea on their accomplishments and wish them continued success as they pursue their dreams and passions.
The FAAR educational Fund was established in 2018 to honor Dr. Eve A Tamayo, FAAR charter member, past president, board member and long-time advisor who believes education is one of the keys to life's success.
